I’ve
been always passionate about Information Technology, ever since high school when I learned my first programming language, I discovered that I really have a knack for it. So at that time I knew that that’s what I want to do so I decided to pursue my education in Information Technology.
I went to University of Georgia to get my undergraduate degree in Management of Information Systems. In 2010 I graduated with honors. While pursuing that degree, I worked on several IT projects where my team had to develop a new website or enhance and improve current site or a system for a client. We were applying all principals of web application development and project management skills that we learned in our program. After I graduated I started working as a programmer for the University, enhancing, creating new modules, and managing websites and systems for the school. During last four years I went from assistant programmer, to application specialist, and currently in the role of application analyst. I’ve been involved in various small and big IT projects. And projects were various scope, they ranged from maintaining a website, to creating new content and modules, finding solution to complex business requirements, managing a system from to bottom, all the way to being part of huge project that university underwent in last three years, by going away with their legacy mainframe student information system, to a new modern system called Banner. So I was involved with integrating student degree auditing system that I managed at a time with new student information system.
At my next job I was managing a website for the Graduate School, it’s a web portal used by students, faculty and staff. I was one of the designers and programmers for the site. We constantly designed and added new content to the site, as per business requirements of the graduate school. And the site uses latest state of the art technologies that are currently used in web development.
So over the years I’ve gained broad experience in many design principals and programming languages that are used in application and web development, in particularly Anguar, AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, JQuery, CSS, as well as Java, JSP, C# using ASP.NET and MVC, SQL, and many more that I list on my resume.
In 2013-2015 I decided to pursue my education even further so I went back to school while still working full time, to pursue Master degree in Internet Technology. And it’s been a tremendous experience. The program expanded my knowledge in IT project management and system and web application development, gave me exposure to scrum and agile, which we used throughout the program, and I’m actually employing it at my work as well. Last two semesters we have been developing and ecommerce solution for a client, it’s our capstone project. Just before we graduated, we presented and handed over a completed and functional website to a client. Upon receiving my Master’s degree, I was looking for opportunities to expand my abilities and utilize my experience, to continue to grow learning latest technologies and following latest trends in the industry.
Such opportunities opened up In the summer of 2015. I have moved to San Francisco Bay area to work for E*TRADE as a web developer, as part of 1 year NCA program. A year later another great opportunity opended up at CPP Inc, The Myers-Briggs Company. This move has been great so far, both professionally and personally. For an IT person, Silicon Valley offer a lot of opportunities for growth and development, so looking forward I am really excited about my time here and any great opportunities that I’ll decide to pursue. In addition to above companies, I also worked at privacy policy cesrification company TrustArc (Truste), as well as smaller startups such as Puzzle Theory and Motive. In all these roles I was either a mid-level or lead UI developer
In my personal time I love to do professional nature photography, it’s my true passion, so most of my weekends are spent hiking various national and state parks in California and surrounding states. Times when I don’t do photography, I like to go surfing, skiing, or taking a joy ride on costal highway 1 or Santa Cruz mountains in my car or motorcycle. Traveling is my other passion, so for each vacation I try to travel and discover new places.
